Steps To Chaplaincy Certification

At Global Chaplaincy Center Bahamas, we offer Two Levels of Chaplaincy. The levels differ based on certifications, training hours, and commitment. Please view the levels below and select the level of your choice.

Level II Chaplain

To become a Level II Chaplaincy, the applicant must complete 400 training hours beginning with the following steps:

​

1. Complete Application (with Background Check & References)

2. Course Work & Training (20 hours of Classroom Curriculum)

3. Written Examination  (Must score at least 70%)

4. Tools & Techniques for 1:1 Coaching Course

5. Tools & Techniques for facilitating Support Groups

6. Blessing Birthright Training  

7. Continuing Education (12 hours) in the following areas:

  • Trauma Awareness & Trauma Informed 

  • Family Wellness

  • Stewards of Children

  • Strengthening Families 

8. Additional training and practicums not listed​

Once you have completed all requirements, you will become a member of the Global Chapliancy Center Network. As a member of the Global Chaplaincy Center Network, you will receive a Certificate and ID Badge that demonstrates your commitment to providing support, counsel, and care to those in need.

Your membership also provides you with full access to a Global Connection, which includes networking, resources, career information, continuing education units, workshops, and a connection with like-minded individuals. 

​

The Global Chaplaincy Center Network provides additional certifications, trainings, and other diverse credentials to prepare our Chaplains for additional careers and other opportunities.

Global Connections

GCCB provides our chaplains with access to employment resource, global connections, and opportunities to network with likeminded individuals throughout the world.

Conferences

Join the GCCB Family as we strengthen our knowledge and skills as chaplains. Attend diverse learning sessions, hear keynote addresses, and connect with colleagues.

Certifications

Participate in diverse courses and trainings to enhance your skills as a chaplain. Examples of Certifications and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) may include, but not limited to: Trauma, Child & Family Advocates.

Workshops

GCCB offers a variety of workshops/training to provide GCC Chaplains with diverse tools to gain new skills. Examples of workshops may include, but not limited to: Understanding Poverty, Skills for Healthy Families, Building Communities.  

Level I Chaplain

To become a Level I Chaplaincy, the applicant must complete the following steps:

1. Complete Application 

2. Course Work & Training (20 hours of Classroom Curriculum)

3. Written Examination  (Must score at least 70%)

*Note*

Level I Chaplains will not be affliated with the Global Chapliancy Center and will not have access to additional training, supports, and resources. The Level I Chaplain will not be considered for deployment under Global Chapliancy Center.
